Hello! So Your probably going through my website and thinking “ok, I like (hopefully LOVE?) her work but why else should I contact this photographer?” Well let me guide you to make a better decision.

About me?

Well I am a part time photographer - a creative and I love capturing moments - memories - emotion. I work full time for the federal government of Canada and am a mom to 2 amazing kids, a wife to my highschool sweetheart and summed up - I love photography, coffee, wine, Doritos, Bon Jovi, travelling and being at my cottage. I like to think I am young at heart and pretty laid back - although I am a bit of a control freak at times - which in all honesty is GREAT to keep up with all the crazy things in life! Details matter to me, those little darn things can be forgetful - so I definitely make sure to capture all I can get from every session. My clients are #1 - and my return clients are my #1+! I value each and everyone I work with and those that come back to me again and again, well that means so much more - not only as a business but as a person. It’s a reward really, a BIG thanks but without having to say thanks. I thrive off of referrals - word of mouth goes a long way and makes my business better each and every year! Friends say: ” I really don’t know how you do it with a full time job, husband, kids etc. etc.?” When you love something so much, it works out and everything falls into place. I am so lucky to have this opportunity and to be where I am today - I just make it work and it works out great.

What is in my camera bag:

Canon Mirrorless R6 camera, Canon 50mm 1.2L, Canon 24-70 II 2.8L, Canon 100mm macro, extra cards and batteries! Bucket list: Canon 85mm 1.2L

About my photography background:

I am 100% self taught - but don’t let that send you running. Experience is way more effective then the books for this passion if you ask me, the more I shoot the more I learn - even after over 15 years in the business I am still learning. Over the years, I did my own research to learn the technical terms of how a camera works etc, but how I received my skills and knowledge was by doing, experiencing and photographing - troubleshooting and learning from my mistakes. Getting out there and perfecting my style, learning what type of photography I wanted to do. It really is all about being hands on.

My interest peaked in grade 10 while taking a photography class with everyone's favourite teacher Mr. Shoveller. Now this man had drive and passion. He gave me so much hope and opened my eyes to see that this was something I WANTED BADLY! And so, I did - but many years later. I learnt the purest of photography with him - darkroom, chemicals and creating our own images the real way. He really opened a door for me.

Fast forward a few years - collage came and I skipped the photography course opportunity and did graphic design instead. At the time, I didn’t feel that photography would get me anywhere in life - and the course itself, was quite costly. I love designing and being creative - so I guessed it was a close second to photography with possibly more career opportunities.

But deep down, I knew my photography passion was still there so after college, I saved my money and I bought my first SLR. I played around, taking photos of my own personal things and just had fun with what was around me - I created a fun hobby. Opportunities then started to open for me - my wedding photographer was amazing and she knew I wanted to one day shoot a wedding. She allowed me to shadow her for a wedding - which was a wonderful way to see how the day worked as a photographer. Then around 2006 I got my first gig - a friend approached me and asked if I would want to photograph his wedding! From there things started to grow.

After years of hard work, determination - I did it. And now, after 15 years in the business I am just so thankful to how it all unfolded, I feel so fortunate. I’ve photographed so many families, weddings, newborns and children - and get to be apart of so many great life experiences with such amazing people.

The Studio

My studio is located in my home, in Orleans Ontario. It is based in my newly finished basement that offers space to clients to feel comfortable and at home. This space is perfect for me and for all the sessions that I do in studio. Here I shoot mainly newborns as well maternity, family and mini sessions. Since the studio is in my home, I only hope it offers you a comfortable and relaxed experience for you and your family. My studio is always also a great alternative for days of rain and when sessions need to be moved inside. I will accommodate your session and session needs with some great backdrops, props and lighting.

"My job is simple because I am so extremely passionate at what I do. Photographing those cherished moments that we see time take away is so important to me and I want my clients to have those memories captured, beautifully."
